Have you seen plans by Viridor for a new incinerator just south of Lee Mill? Are you concerned about it? Ivybridge Labour Party met today to discuss plans to build a new waste to energy incinerator in the South Hams after a number of local residents got in touch with us to ask what our view was. Having spoken to local people the party agreed that the location was not ideal and that they would campaign for a better location for the incinerator. Luke Pollard, Labour’s PPC in SW Devon, said: “There are some very real concerns amongst local people about Viridor’s plans. We fear the Tory Council is going to push ahead with the incinerator whatever local people say. With that in mind we need to make sure the impact on Lee Mill and Ivybridge is minimised and the benefits are maximised.” What do you think? Send Luke your views to luke@lukepollard.net
