LGBT Labour donates to Luke’s campaign

Daryn McCombe, National Treasurer of LGBT Labour giving me a cheque for £150 to help fund my campaign.

LGBT Labour, the Labour campaign for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights, has made a donation to my campaign of £150. This will help buy thousands of leaflets for delivery in SW Devon during the election campaign.

In the last few weeks the Co-operative Party has contributed £100 and I’ve raised £125 online for the campaign. We’ve heard a lot in the news about how Lord Ashcroft and the Tories are flooding marginal seats with money in an attempt to buy the election. My campaign isn’t rolling in money – in fact we rely on donations and fundraising just to buy enough leaflets for campaigning each weekend. We cannot afford billboards or advertising.

What we do have though is enthusiasm and volunteers. If you can help raise a few pounds for the campaign, deliver some leaflets or ring a few voters I need to hear from you. We have under two months until the General Election and every day counts. Can you help us win more votes in SW Devon and hold the Tories to account for their broken promises locally.
