Helping with the campaign

My campaign is entirely run by volunteers. There’s no paid staff. We don’t get any subsidy from the taxpayer. Every leaflet you receive has been delivered by a volunteer and paid for by members and supporters from membership fees and fundraising efforts.

I’m proud that we’ve been campaigning solidly for the last three years – we are not a party that you will only see at elections. How can you help? There are three things you can do:

Campaigning

Each week SW Devon runs at least two doorstep campaign sessions where we deliver leaflets or canvass opinions on the doorstep. Find out what is coming up below. The first Saturday of each month we’re in Plymstock, the second Saturday we campaign in Plympton and the third saturday in Ivybridge – the fourth saturday varies so get in touch if you are free to help on the ground.

Telephone Canvassing

As well as delivering leaflets my team also makes hundreds of calls each month to voters to ask for their support or canvass views about local issues. You can do this from home or from one of the special campaign sessions in Plymouth or London – details below:

Tuesdays at 6.30pm – Community Union, 67/68 Long Acre, Covent Garden, London – Volunteers in London can now call voters in Plymouth and SW Devon from a special canvass session organised by the Community Union.

Wednesdays at 6.30pm - Labour Party HQ, 39 Victoria Street, London – Thanks to volunteers supporting the campaign in London we’re getting an extra 150 phone calls in every week. Join volunteers at Labour’s national HQ in London to help call voters in SW Devon every Wednesday.

Sundays at 10.30am – Plymouth Labour HQ, Durnford Street, Plymouth. Join Cllr Tudor Evans’ telephone team calling voters across Plymouth
