Christmas Carols at Wilphys spreads festive cheer in Drake Ward

During my recent campaign against conversion of part of the old Royal Eye Infirmary building into student housing residents spoke about getting back together for Christmas. Tonight, with the help of Wilphy's Sandwich bar, Chaz Singh and myself organised a night of Christmas Carols and mince pies to help raise money for charity.

Thank you to everyone who came along tonight and joined in the singing. I must admit my voice is no vote winner but it was good fun and the mince pies were delicious!

Huge turn out from local residents for the carol singing evening

A huge thank you to the team at Wilphy's for baking homemade mince pies, laying on the quiz and raffle. The night raised over £100 for St Luke's hospice and we've collected three huge boxes of donations for Plymouth Food Bank.

If you'd like to drop off some food or make a donation to St Luke's Wilphy's will be accepting donations until Friday lunchtime.
