Labour will end rail privatisation


Taking the railways back into public control is backed by a majority of people. Jeremy Corbyn will use Labour Conference next week to announce a future Labour government will end rail privatisation.

A year before the General Election I signed a joint letter calling for precisely this to happen. Labour candidates in marginal seats across the country from all wings and political perspectives in the party came together to call for railways to be brought back into public ownership. I want to see more mutual and public sector opportunities to run our railways not just the continuation of the current expensive and inefficient privatisation.
