The Land Registry is being privatised. That means hundreds of jobs in Plymouth are being put at risk by the Tories.
The announcement was hidden away in the Chancellor's unfair budget statement that is being supported by Plymouth's three Tory MPs.
The Land Registry is a profitable organisation doing a first-class job. It returns a profit to the public purse each and every year. Selling it to the highest bidder is not only economically illiterate, it is a direct assault on Plymouth's economy.
Today in the Plymouth Herald Alison Seabeck and I attacked the Tory privatisaiton plan. The last time the Tories tried to sell off the Land Registry Plymouth rose up and successfully opposed it. Alison led the campaign in Parliament but now we have a Tory MP representing Moor View will he stand up for Plymouth or put it second as he has done since he was elected?
I oppose privatisation of the Land Registry, do you?
