Tax credit cuts

Stop_tax_credit_cut.jpg

We in the Labour Party must hammer home as hard and as often as we can that the tax credits cuts will hit 3.2 million families to the tune of £1,325 a year each.

These are people in work, many struggling to make ends meet and provide for their families.

Cameron promised he wouldn't cut working families tax credits in the election campaign. I met a lot of people who believed him and voted for the Conservatives because they thought their tax credits were safe.

Cameron is now undermining the basic principle of making work pay. Labour will continue to fight this in Plymouth and in the House of Commons and we must continue until the Government backs down.
