Tories hike tuition fees

Today's Queens Speech confirms that the Tories are seeking to hike tuition fees. During the general election I challenged Oliver Colvile to pledge he would vote against higher student tuition fees. He refused. I warned that his means Plymouth's students would be left with higher fees if the Tories won.

I stood on a platform of reducing tuition fees at the last general election. It is not a time for higher and higher fees, it is time to open up education to people from all backgrounds. We also need to invest more in Further Education but the Tories are cutting their budgets.

If you agree with me that tuition fees shouldn't be hiked by the Tories please sign Labour's petition.
