Tory cuts to mental health services impacts on the Police


Cells are no place for people with mental health problems. 

Tory cuts to mental health services and fewer and fewer police officers mean that this practice of locking up instead of helping some of our most vulnerable people continues.

I'm really pleased the Police have been able to speak out about people with mental health problems being held for ludicrously long times in cells because there are no mental health beds available. It's a scandal and its happening right here in Devon. Mental health continues to be cut and so does the Police budget.

We need Plymouth's three Tory MPs to realise you can't vote time and time again for cuts and then complain when services deteriorate. We need proper funding for mental health in Devon and that is still not happening.
