Luke & Santa

As we are in the thick of the second lockdown, there will be a lot of people keen to start their Christmas shopping as soon as restrictions begin to lift again in December. With the volume of people potentially looking to visit the city centre in the festive season, Luke will be talking to some key people involved in the city centre about how we will keep shops and public areas “covid-secure”, how we will support local businesses and add some very important festive cheer that our city would benefit from.

The roundtable will be held on 20 November from 12-1pm.

Prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, Luke held monthly roundtables called ‘Pastries & Politics’ on a range of topics, including cycling, tourism, homelessness and mental health. In a bid to ensure that important topics do not get side-lined as a result of the pandemic, Luke has started holding monthly virtual roundtables – remotely bringing together interested stakeholders to discuss, debate and share ideas, as well as find out how he can help through his work in Parliament.

Last month’s topic was homelessness in Plymouth, and Luke is now looking forward to his next ‘Lunch with Luke’, which will be on the subject of keeping retail “covid-secure” in the run up to Christmas.

If you feel you have something important to contribute and would be interested in joining the conversation, please contact luke.pollard.mp@parliament.uk to be sent an invitation.
