Luke with Santa

Luke knows that 2020 has been a tough year for everyone, and so with just over a month to go until Christmas he decided to run a competition for children in local primary schools to design the front of his annual Christmas card.

The card can be on anything Christmas themed, as long as it has an overarching message of hope and community spirit. Luke will send out the electronic card to save on paper, but there will be a limited supply of cards printed, with one blown up to be featured in Luke’s office window.

Luke says:

“I know much Christmas means to families in Plymouth. With more people spending Christmas alone this year than ever before, and many of us worried about whether we will be able to see friends and family, sending a special message to loved ones this Christmas will be even more important.

This competition is a way to say thank you to the children who have continued learning and coped fantastically with the pandemic, and to show Plymouth that we are all together in this.”

Can your child help design the Christmas card? There will be prizes for first, second and third places in this competition which I will announce after judging the entries. If you have a child of primary school age from Plymouth who you think would like to enter, please let them know.

Submissions should be emailed in to luke.pollard.mp@parliament.uk by the Monday 23rd of November.
