Luke was re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport on December 12th 2019. During the campaign, Luke made 5 pledges to Plymouth which he is now working hard to deliver on.

Luke’s Five Pledges

1. Public to have a final say on Brexit

Brexit is a mess. I want a Brexit put to bed within six months of the General Election with a public vote between a deal and remain. You should have the final say and then let’s get on and fix Britain. Either way, I will fight for the best Brexit deal for Plymouth.

2. Good schools and hospitals

Tory austerity has gone too far. Labour will fund our schools and hospitals fairly. We will end privatisation of the NHS and ensure Plymouth gets the funding it needs.

3. More affordable homes

We need more affordable homes to address the worsening housing crisis. Labour will build more housing with a focus on low-carbon affordable homes.

4. Action on the climate crisis

We need bolder action on the climate crisis. Labour will deliver more electric charging points in Plymouth, green insulation for homes and action on air quality and more renewable energy.

5. Standing up for our armed forces

I have loudly oppose Conservative cuts to our Royal Navy and Royal Marines. I’ve led campaigns to base new frigates in Devonport and keep our Royal Marines in Plymouth
