Responding to the announcement of Boris Johnson’s new Brexit deal, Luke Pollard MP said:

“Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal looks like being a harsher and worse version of Theresa May’s deal. It doesn’t include the protections for environmental protections and workers’ rights and will make Plymouth’s economy poorer.

This sell out deal won’t bring the country together and should be rejected. The best way to get Brexit sorted is to give the people the final say in a public vote.
I won’t vote for a deal that makes our city worse off. But this deal could pass if Boris Johnson attached a public vote to it. Three years after the 2016 referendum, Brexit now looks very different from what we were promised it would be. That’s why I want to check in with the people to see whether they want this form of Brexit. And if they don’t they should be able to vote to keep the best deal on offer – the one we have already.”
