Luke Pollard comments on his office being vandalised for the third time

Luke Pollard, who is running for re-election as the MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, has had his office vandalised for the third time last night. Commenting on the incident, Luke Pollard said:

“There is no place for homophobia, no place for hate, no place for bigotry in our city. It is important that all of us call it out when we see it.

I’ve offered to sit down with the individuals that have done this, to have a cup of tea, to talk about their concerns. That offer has been ignored.

I’m not going to be made a victim of by people who have hate in their hearts. Nor am I going to let my staff that work so hard from my office on Frankfort Gate feel threatened or unsafe when they’re coming to work.

We have a choice when confronted with rising hate about what we do about it. We can dial up the language, go on the offensive and meet aggression with aggression. Or we can seek to lower the temperature and bring our communities together. I choose to build bridges and be part of the solution not fan the flames of division.”
