Working with Luke, Plymouth Labour Party today launched the Plymouth Labour Community Action group, working to support people during the COVID-19 crisis by providing a free shopping service for elderly and vulnerable people.
The group have worked hard to set up online sign-ups, a phone-in service and email support for Plymouth residents.
Luke commended Plymouth Labour volunteers for working to rapidly launch this service, preventing elderly and vulnerable from taking unnecessary journeys to the shops, and potentially saving lives.
“This is what the Labour Party is all about. Supporting the vulnerable in the community by taking whatever action is needed. I would urge anyone who needs help to complete the online sign-up, call the number or email the group. Thank you to the dozens of volunteers who have already come forward – we really appreciate the support.”
Whilst this service is organised by volunteers from the Plymouth Labour Party, they have been explicit in offering their support on a non-partisan basis, and have encouraged everyone, regardless of political allegiance, to come forward if they need support.
You can also request help picking up prescriptions, delivering mail or request a chat if you would like to request assistance in other ways.
