Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport
Luke today co-signed a letter calling for clarity from the Foreign and Commonwealth Officer (FCO) in steps they are taking to ensure Britons trapped abroad are able to get safely home to their families.
The letter raised several concerns, including the method and speed by which Britons can be repatriated, the consequences of British people falling ill in a country which they have not bought insurance for, and how best people who may be more vulnerable or have underlying health conditions can be helped.
Luke has been working with the FCO and had this to say:
“There are people from Plymouth around the world and my team and I are working hard with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to get them home. We have already helped some people and will continue to do so until everyone is home safely with their families. This is an awful time of worry and distress for people with loved ones struggling to get back to the UK. If my team and I can help please get in touch.”
