Luke has signed a a cross party letter asking for urgent action to be taken to support charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. Given the unprecedented situation, and their ability to play a crucial role in the national response to Coronavirus, it is important we give them all the support they need.

Luke had this to say:

“Plymouth’s charity, voluntary groups and social enterprises are a key backbone of our city’s economy. The work that these organisations do was essential for so many families before the virus-outbreak and is now critical that there is support provided to these organisations. I was pleased to add my name to this cross-party letter asking Ministers to introduce comprehensive support for charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises. It is also good to see that Gary Streeter has also added his name to this letter – cross-party working and constructive opposition is essential to help Ministers make the right decision at this time of national crisis.”

Thank you to all those working hard in the voluntary sector to tackle this crisis.
