• Luke hails 50th Earth Day
• After Covid-19, we cannot go back to business as usual

Marking the 50 years of Earth Day, Luke had this to say:

“On the 50^th anniversary of the first Earth Day we should remind ourselves that we cannot go back to business as usual after Coronavirus.

 

“The virus has shown us that our way of life is fragile and we need to look carefully at what type of planet we want to live on; we don’t want to return to smog-filled streets, rising carbon emissions and dying species.

 

“We need our recovery to be led by green industries with renewed efforts to cut carbon, protect fragile habitats and create green jobs.”
