Luke Pollard, MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, had the honour of getting a sneak preview of The Box last week. The Box is set to be one of the biggest cultural centres in the entirety of the south-west and shows off the proud history of Plymouth, as well as honouring the legacy of the Mayflower. Cultural institutions like The Box present an opportunity for people across the country to visit Plymouth and feel connected to the place, even if only for a short while.

Luke Pollard MP had this to say about The Box:

“The Box will be absolutely transformative for our city, giving pride to the incredible voyages that have departed from Plymouth in the past and the accomplishments of our city while also recognising the sometimes dark side of those achievements and voyages.”

 

“This is just another sign that Plymouth is on the up and up as a city, giving a new way for tourists to engage with our city and to show the magnitude of ways us Janners can be proud of what we’ve done.
