Commenting on the decision by Plymouth Raiders owners to withdraw the team from competitions next season, Luke Pollard MP said:
“The decision by the owners of Plymouth Raiders to withdraw from the league and competitions next season is hugely disappointing. It robs Plymouth of our basketball team and could be the beginning of the end for Raiders. That must not be allowed to happen.
“I believe that a deal can be done to keep the Raiders alive and playing in Plymouth, but that requires the owners of the club to step back to the negotiating table.
“Raiders is a part of Plymouth. The owners need to know that, though they may own the team, the Raiders will always belong to Plymouth.”
