Luke recently put out a statement on his ambitions for important investments in Plymouth:
“If we are honest, the Union Street community has been left behind for too long. Many buildings along the street have been allowed to decay and there has not been enough investment in the community. It is one reason why I have been so vocal in supporting brilliant organisations like Nudge Community Builders and backed them by buying shares in their community share issue for a top-to-bottom refurbishment of the Clipper pub as a community hub and now with their new plans for the Millennium building.
“At the other end of Union Street, there’s big plans afoot too. I am a big fan of Millfields Trust & Millfields Inspired and their work on Union Street. The new genesis building with a huge green wall is now a firm favourite of local residents in Stonehouse and I am really excited to see what will happen next. Their focus on providing space to local businesses to grow and thrive is creating jobs and returning profits in our community.
“Their new plans for Union Street will see a new hotel, workspaces, homes and rooftop bar created. It is a huge investment in our community and I am really positive about this. I wanted to show you their plans so you can see what they’re proposing. Multi-million pound investments like this have the potential to be game changers, and that’s why I’m backing these proposals.
“The local community will have a chance to have their say too but in the meantime have a look at the video and images and let me know what you think Plymouth!”
