Luke Pollard MP Labour & Co-op Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton & Devonport
Since Luke was elected in 2017, he and his team have secured over £1.5 million for people living in Plymouth, in overpaid taxes, lost benefits and withheld support. As well as this they’ve also been able to help local businesses access COVID-19 financial support.
Hitting the £1.5 million pound mark in just five years as an MP shows the huge contribution MPs staff – who often get overlooked – make to our city and how much people in Plymouth are missing out on.
Luke said:
As the economic impact of COVID is beginning to bite and the cost of living is skyrocketing, my team have had to work harder than ever to get people in Plymouth the money they deserve.
Plymouth doesn’t get its fair share of funding, but every day people are missing out on welfare support, child maintenance, and over-paying taxes.
Since I was first elected I have been proud to employ a small team of caseworkers to support me. Much of what they do cannot be measured, such as helping a vulnerable person get social care support, or to help a family to find a new home. It’s easy to overlook it.
