Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport
On Sunday 18th September, I paid my respects to the Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at her Lying-in-State in Westminster Hall.
I invited four people to join me. Instead of inviting civic dignitaries or political leaders I wanted to showcase the people who work hard for our city often without fanfare.
I’m really pleased that Judith, Toby, Sofia and Ross joined me from our community in Plymouth, representing young people, our veterans, businesses in our creative sectors and residents.
Seeing the Queen laying in state was a hugely moving experience. The calm and respectful atmosphere was humbling.
Thank you Ma’am.
