Luke speaks to BBC Radio Devon about care leavers campaign

Leo and Shelby, two Janners who grew up in care, did a fantastic job speaking to BBC Radio Devon today about our rent guarantor campaign.

In many cases, care leavers don’t have a rent guarantor and they struggle to access private rented accommodation because landlords are unwilling to accommodate them.

I recently asked the Work and Pensions Secretary to meet me and Barnardo’s to discuss the possibility of introducing a pilot rent deposit scheme to help give care leavers the best possible change of finding somewhere to call home.
