Hello Plymouth – Good news! Devonport Police Office is set to open a front desk to the public for the first time.

Since its opening in 2012, Devonport’s Police Office has not had a front desk open to allow members of the public to walk in and report crime.

Plymouth Labour has been campaigning to open the front desk at Devonport for many years – and thanks to the hard work of councillors Mark Coker and Jemima Laing – the Police and Crime Commissioner has listened to the our case on this issue.

I’ve been pleased to back this campaign and make the case to the Police Commissioner directly too.

The decision to open this front desk will make the police more accessible by allowing the public to speak directly to officers, pass on concerns and report crime locally. It is why we have been arguing for it.

I am really pleased with this outcome. The move will help fight crime in the area and give local residents much better access to the police.
