Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport

Hello Plymouth. I have been contacted by concerned parents in our city about the rise in the number of under 18s who are vaping. I share these concerns and encourage you to contribute to the government’s call for evidence into youth vaping in the UK.
The government is holding a call for evidence to identify opportunities to reduce the number of children accessing and using vape products, while ensuring they are still easily available as a quit aid for adult smokers.
E-cigarettes can be valuable as an aid to help smokers quit. However, reports suggest that an alarming number of under 18s across the country are being sold vapes, even though it is illegal for these products to be sold to children. Much of the advertising and marketing of vape products also seems to target under 18s.
For more information on the government’s call for evidence into underage vaping please visit their website.
The consultation will close at 11:45pm on 6 June 2023.
