I love Christmas and on Saturday I joined Cllr Charlotte Holloway and volunteers to help serve the older people in Drake Ward their annual Christmas lunch. The event took place at Sherwell Church on North Hill and was the most well-attended I can remember.

A big thank you to Pippa and Trish and the Greenbank Youth Ambassadors for helping serve. It was good to see the community come together and help those older folks who may otherwise have been on their own.

It was good to speak to the BBC who were filming at the lunch also about loneliness among older folk at Christmas. There are some superb organisations supporting people at Christmas and so if you know someone who needs a bit of support please get in touch and we can sign post them to local services who can help this festive season.
