Earlier this year, Russian Spy ship Yantar was caught loitering over critical undersea infrastructure near UK waters. We declassified this information, and since then briefings like this are critical to understand and raise awareness of the nature of this threat.

Grateful to my Parliamentary colleagues who attended a briefing I gave in my role as Minister for Armed Forces with the Royal Navy on our work to safeguard undersea cables. We must continue to work across Government and with industry to raise awareness of the threats we face and invest in more protective capabilities.
