Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport
After months of being unable to meet, choirs were looking forward to restarting rehearsals on Monday 17th May. However, the government updated the guidance the following day to say that now ‘non-professional singing indoors should only take place in a single group of up to 6 people’.
Singing is an important hobby for hundreds of people in Plymouth. There is an understandable level of frustration at the contrasting restrictions for indoor sport and how the Government handled this last-minute change. Luke is keen to hear the views of local singers on this topic as soon as possible.
Luke will be holding an online discussion on Friday 28 May, 4 – 5pm via Zoom.
Following the discussion, Luke will be making representations to Oliver Dowden, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
If you are a choir singer and are interested in attending, please contact Luke on email@example.com to receive an invitation.
