Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport
On Monday 29th of November, Luke announced his resignation from Labour’s Shadow Cabinet. Luke had been in the Shadow Defra team since being elected in 2017 and took over the as Shadow Secretary of Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs in 2019.
Luke worked hard in the position to bring environmental and farming issues to the fore. In returning to the backbench Luke is looking forward to refocusing his effort on the needs of Plymouth as well as:
“be(ing) a louder voice on the need for more urgent action on the climate and nature crisis, the need to renew our democracy by making the case for proportional representation, and the need for bolder changes on gun laws after the Keyham shooting.”
