Sign the petition below for a safe pedestrian crossing at Mutley Plain

Over the past seven years, one of the best things about being your MP has been working with brilliant local councillors.

Councillors in Drake and Compton wards have been working on a campaign for a safe pedestrian crossing at the top of Mutley Plain. I’m supporting this campaign to make it safer for people to cross Mutley Plain, and to make sure that our traffic can continue to flow safely through this vital artery of our city.

Councillor Charlotte Holloway, Drake ward, said:

Residents are telling us that they are taking their lives in their hands each time they try to cross Mutley Plain. That’s parents with pushchairs, children trying to get to the local schools, or people going to the shops. We need to make improvements here so that pedestrians feel safer, and so that drivers have the assurance they need that they are driving safely.

Councillor Angela Penrose, Compton ward, said:

As a Compton councillor, I’m really concerned about this crossing on Mutley Plain. We’ve got residents trying to cross all the time, and there is the Baptist Church in the area with young people’s clubs.

Councillor Matt Smith, Compton ward, said:

We know how important Mutley Plain is to our communities here in Compton. We just need to make it a little bit safer. So please, support the campaign.
