Ahead of the Autumn Budget on Wednesday, the Labour MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, Luke Pollard has asked Philip Hammond to use the budget to give the South West “our fair share.”

Luke’s letter sets out seven key asks including £30 million for South West Rail upgrades, rule out cuts to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, stop the cuts to Plymouth’s schools, increase funding for health and social care, retrofit sprinklers and pay for recladding the three Mount Wise tower blocks, abandon the cap on local housing allowance and cut beer duty for pubs.
