Luke Pollard MP Labour & Co-op Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton & Devonport
Luke Pollard MP will host a public meeting via Zoom, alongside Councillor Jeremy Goslin, to oppose plans to erect an 18m high phone mast in Peverell. The call will begin at 7pm on Sunday 4th July.
The new mast would be built at the junction of Long Bowden and Home Park Avenue, and multiple residents have already contacted both Mr Pollard and Mr Goslin to complain about the proposals. In a video on his Twitter account, Councillor Goslin demonstrated just how bad an eyesight this new mast would be by building an 18m high temporary mast.
Luke Pollard MP said:
“We do need better mobile signal across Plymouth but this mast is too big for a quiet residential area. At 18 metres high, it would be four times the height of local residences – it simply isn’t in proportion with its surrounding here in Peverell. I share the concerns of local residents that this eyesore would blight the area.”
