Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport

I had a recent visit to All Saints school in Honicknowle where I was invited to see the pioneering work being done by the school to make LGBT+ children more welcome in school. After speaking to staff about their programme, I met with the school parliament comprised of students from all year groups.
It was great to answer questions from the young people at All Saints on a range of issues from why I’m in politics to how we can change Plymouth for the better. I was especially impressed by the work of the school in making LGBT young people feel safe and welcomed. As an awkward, spotty, and closeted teenager this approach would have been a game-changer for me when I was at school, and know what a difference it will be making to today’s LGBT generation. Superb work!
