Luke Pollard MP Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of The Queen. Her Majesty The Queen has been the nation’s rock for longer than most of us have been alive. She has been a towering example of public service and the very best of our nation in good times and bad.
The Queen was the continuity and strength of our nation. She visited Plymouth many times over her reign. We loved her and as a city we feel her loss profoundly. Her connection with our city’s armed forces, our people and our institutions has made us stronger and her example of selfless service something we can aspire to and admire.
I join people across Plymouth in sending our condolences to the Royal Family who have not only lost their Queen but a loved member of their family.
Queen Elizabeth II: 21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022
