It was fantastic welcome one of my former Summer School students to Westminster this week for a work experience placement.

Anunt attended my augural Summer School in 2022 and is currently studying International Relations at the University of Exeter.

During his time with us, Anunt wrote social media posts, attended and reported back on committee hearings. He even got to watch Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer debate in the House of Commons chamber!

Speaking about his experience in Westminster, Anunt said:

“It was a real privilege to gain an insight into how an MP’s office is run.

“Working within parliament was a truly unforgettable experience, and seeing Rishi Sunak and Kier Starmer debating up close in the House of Commons was a particularly eye-opening moment.

“Observing the day to day workings of parliament was an enabling development after participating in Luke’s Summer School of 2022. I am very grateful to Luke and the team for mentoring me and allowing me to gain an awareness of how the political life operates.”
