Luke Pollard MP Labour & Co-op Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton & Devonport
Thank you to everyone who has contacted me regarding the travellers in Devonport Park. Following a number of concerns raised by residents, I’d like to provide an update.
Firstly, I want to acknowledge the inconvenience and disruption that this situation has caused for residents. Maintaining the park as a safe, accessible, and open space for residents is my priority.
I’m in close communication with our local ward councillors, who have been working closely with the Police and Plymouth City Council since the travellers arrived. My team and I have been in regular touch with the councillors and the Council so that the situation is fixed as swiftly and effectively as possible.
A Notice to Quit has been issued, and I’m pleased that a court date is scheduled for 6th June, where legal proceedings will commence to facilitate removal. A Notice of Hearing will take place on-site today, 29th May, to inform the group of the upcoming court date.
My team and I will keep residents informed throughout this process. I understand how frustrating this situation has been, and I’m grateful to everyone for their patience and engagement.
Thank you again to everyone who has contacted me about this issue. Should you have any further questions or require additional information, please do get in touch by emailing luke.pollard.mp@parliament.uk
