There are over 20,000 people waiting for an NHS dentist in Plymouth. I know that a lack of NHS dentists is causing real pain and trouble for people across our city. This is leading to more and more people attending the Emergency Department at Derriford with teeth issues because they simply can’t see an NHS dentist.

We have England’s best dental school in Plymouth who are working hard to help people, but there aren’t enough students to replace all the NHS dentists we are losing. Since being elected in 2017 I have been arguing for urgent action on dentistry from Ministers. Six years on this is now an acute problem. I want to hear from you about your dental experiences so I can make an even stronger case to Ministers that they must do better and prioritise fixing NHS dentistry.
