Luke signs up to the Parks Protector Pledge by the charity Fields In Trust. More than 90 per cent of Britain’s parks and play areas have no legal protection to stop them from being targeted by housing developers. Fields in Trust are an independent charity that champions and supports our parks and green spaces by protecting them for people to enjoy in perpetuity.

Luke Pollard running for re-election as the MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport said:

“The parks and green spaces of Plymouth are vital resources for us all, bringing our communities together and benefitting our physical and mental health. I am proud to be backing the Mayflower Forest campaign to plant a forest of trees at Marsh Mills roundabout. I also led the campaign locally to stop David Cameron’s government selling off Cann Woods when they tried to privatise our nation’s woodlands.

Trees and woodlands have such an important role to play in tackling climate change and air pollution and are well worth investing in. I have also backed Plymouth City Council’s efforts to take an overall approach to tree planting in Plymouth via their new and nation-leading ‘Plan for Trees’ which is well worth a google and a read.

The Tories can’t be trusted with the climate emergency. On Thursday, December 12, vote Luke, vote Labour.”
