Ventilators are used to assist with breathing
  • Luke calls for Plymouth businesses who could produce ventilators to contact Government
  • The UK currently has 5,900 ventilators, but could need 20,000 more
  • Please contact 0300 456 3565 or ventilator.support@beis.gov.uk if you can help

With the number of patients testing positive with COVID-19 set to rise and increasing pressure on the NHS, access to a ventilator could significantly improve the chances of people making a full recovery. It is for that reason that Luke has urged local businesses to help support the ventilator effort if they can do so.

Luke said:

“Ventialtors are not just one item, they’re made of hundreds of components. Plymouth has a world-class manufacturing base and if any businesses can help in the national effort can I ask them to urgently contact the Government. This is a national emergency and we can all do something to slow the spread of the virus. Those in manufacturing firms may be able to literally save lives.”

This is a national effort and we all need to come together to do everything we can. Businesses who may be able to help in other ways (property, logistics, food supply, other medical equipment etc.) should contact gcfcovid19enquiries@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.
