Luke Pollard MP Labour & Co-op Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton & Devonport
- Luke supports fundraiser by Adrenaline Devon Junior and Minor League to support young footballers in Devon
- Fundraising may be matched up to £10,000 by Sport England
- Luke is an FA Grassroots Champion
Adrenaline are fundraising to support youth football in Plymouth, with a goal of raising £10,000 which may be matched to £20,000 if they are successful in meeting their target. Luke is supporting this campaign as a big fan and supporter of youth and grassroots football, and had this to say:
“Our grassroots sports clubs make such a difference to the health, confidence and development of our young people. During the Coronavirus crisis I have been trying to support these clubs. This crowdfunder is a great scheme to help one of our local football groups get through the virus – please do donate if you can.”
If potential donors wish their contribution to go to a specific club, they can leave a message alongside their donation. Anonymous donations be evenly distributed across all Clubs.
If Adrenaline receive the full £10,000 of Sport England Match Funding, this will be split across all Clubs within the League. £1000 will be kept back for the League Benevolent Fund that supports injured players.
With over 5000 parents, 1000 volunteers and several former players involved, there is a significant opportunity to meet the £10,000 target and to show Devon’s commitment to young people who have missed out on sport throughout this lockdown.
There are only 35 days to achieve the £10,000 target and claim the Sports England funding – if this target is not met, donations will be refunded.
