Luke asked for black and BAME people in Plymouth to share their experiences of racism, and why the Black Lives Matter movement is important to them. He hoped he would give black and BAME people in Plymouth a platform, and highlight the issues of racism in our city.

We had some many powerful contribution it was hard to fit them all in a short video, so some of them are also available in full here.

Black Lives Matter. I asked for black and BAME people in Plymouth to share their experiences of racism in our city and to say why the black lives matter movement is important to them.

I want to use the platform I have as your MP and the privilege I have as a white guy to amplify black and BAME voices. I want to thank all the contributors for sharing their experiences.

This video is a collection of clips from the experiences that have been shared with me. The people on this video speak in their own words about their own experiences and their own hopes and fears.

This is a powerful video and if you find listening to abuse difficult, this may not be right for you to watch alone. But please, if you can, watch it to the end and share with others. As usual, please let me know what you think and how you feel after listening to this video about racism and inequality in Plymouth. Thank you.
