Luke Pollard MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment Secretary, commenting on the bird flu outbreak in North Yorkshire, said:
“Quick action is required to keep the bird flu outbreak under control. Culling the infected flocks is the right decision.
“We now need Ministers to offer reassurances to the country and our nation’s farmers about how the outbreak will be contained and where it came from.
“At a time of national crisis, we need to be alert that Covid-19 is not the only threat to our country. Our farmers need a strong response from Ministers and support for affected farms.”
