Luke Pollard MP has announced the winners of his Christmas Card competition. He asked children from across Plymouth to design him a card, centring on a theme of community and hope, and the response he got was astounding.

In first place was Oliwa, age 10:

Luke especially liked Oliwa’s message on her Christmas Card design that says “One community can make a change – just have hope.” Congratulations to Oliwa!

In second place was Oryn, aged 7, for the festive Plymouth beaver!

And in third place was Erin, aged 7, for a wonderfully drawn Christmas scene:

Luke thanked the winners personally at their school last week, and gave them some chocolates as a prize.

There will be a limited supply of cards printed, with one blown up to be featured in my office window in Frankfort gate. Luke will also be sending an electronic card out to save paper too.

“I was so impressed with all the entries – thank you! They were all really imaginative and positive. It was really tough choosing a winner as there were so many excellent designs, I would have been happy with any of them on the front of my Christmas card. You have all done so well, thank you.

“2020 has been really hard for lots of people, but I want to thank everyone in Plymouth for stepping up, caring for one another and for helping to slow the spread of the virus. Thanks to your hard work we have been able to keep more people in Plymouth safe. Thank you.”
