Throughout the pandemic Team Luke has continued to make representations to various departments on behalf of constituents. The number of requests for help have tripled from before the virus has hit. The team are continuing to work from home and support the larger number of requests for assistance.

Luke said:

“I was really pleased to hear today that following my contact with the DWP one young constituent has had his Personal Independence Payment reinstated.

He contacted my office after an administrative error with the DWP led to his PIP being stopped, and so I asked the Department to urgently review his case. I’m pleased to say that they recognised the importance of the situation and reinstated his award and paid him the arrears owed.

Sadly during this pandemic many agencies are under pressure and mistakes do sometimes happen, this is where it is useful for me, as a Member of Parliament, to help by highlighting these errors. Since I was first elected in 2017 my team and I have successfully brought more than £1 000 000 back into Plymouth’s economy by helping challenge incorrect decisions. This is something that I’m incredibly proud of and is making a real difference to many people’s lives- true politics in action.”

If you need help please get in touch with me by emailing luke.pollard.mp@parliament.uk or calling 01752 7171255- leave a message and one of the team will get back to you.
