Luke Pollard MP visited Devonport Amateur Boxing Club yesterday.

The club welcomes members from the age of eight. Since it is free to join, they have been grateful for the support of local organisations, including a generous £1000 for new equipment from South West Water’s Neighbourhood Fund.

Luke said:

“Tim, Marie and the volunteers who keep this place running are doing a brilliant job here in the heart of Devonport. It’s far more than a gym; it’s a vibrant community hub. They’re passionate about using boxing to foster self-confidence, self-discipline and self-respect, particularly for children who have been bullied or are suffering with anxiety. I’m looking forward to supporting the club going forward in whatever way I can.”
