The news that Devon and Cornwall Police has been placed into special measures by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services is understandably very concerning for families across Plymouth.
It is vital we have confidence in our police services to maintain law and order and keep the public safe.
I have written to the Home Secretary (see below) to request an urgent meeting with her and fellow South West MPs to hear how our police force will be put back on track.
We need to hear from the Home Secretary about how she will swiftly implement a plan to address the failings of Devon and Cornwall Police and restore confidence in our police service.
