Luke's joint-electric blanket fundraiser has raised £5,240 so far
Hello Plymouth – Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have now smashed past our £4,000 stretch target for the Plymouth Foodbank electric blanket drive.

£4,240 has been raised on the donation page, and Plymouth Foodbank received a £1000 grant from the National Grid’s Christmas community fund, taking the grand total raised so far to £5,240.

I launched this campaign in November with Plymouth Foodbank because I could not stand by and do nothing about the cost of living crisis. We shouldn’t need fundraisers like this, but the bleak reality is that many families in Plymouth cannot afford to turn on their heating on this winter because of soaring energy costs.

Each pound raised will go towards buying an electric blanket for those electric blankets (also known as heated throws), which are a cheaper way to stay warm and save on energy bills. Plymouth Foodbank will continue to distribute the blankets over the coming weeks.

There is still time to donate. If you haven’t made a contribution to the electric blanket drive yet and would like to, please click on the link below. The fundraiser closes in two weeks on the 18 January.

Thank you.
