Luke responds to announcement on Plymouth’s new Community Diagnostics Centre

Hello Plymouth – I am really excited that Plymouth has today won our bid for the Community Diagnostic Centre that will be part of the Health Village in the city centre.
 
I have been arguing for this £20m centre because it will make it easier for people to get tests and scans and take pressure off GPs and Derriford.
 
I have also been campaigning for a Super Health Hub in the city centre for years and have worked with Labour and Conservative Councils to deliver it.
 
The Tory government pulled funding last year which makes delivering projects like the Community Diagnostic Centre in the Health Village really important.
 
I am continuing to work hard with the newly elected Plymouth Labour run City Council on other health village projects. There’s more work to be done on design and location but this is a big step forward in delivering health on the high street.
 
A good team win for Plymouth. More to come I hope.
