Roundtable discussion in the Market Hall Devonport
Roundtable discussion in the Market Hall Devonport

Every month I hold a Politics & Pastries round table event in the City, where I bring together stakeholders from across the city to discuss issues that are important to the folk I represent.

Today, Friday 16th February, we met at the brilliant Devonport Market Hall to chat about the Devonport 200 celebrations that are taking place this year. The Real Ideas Organisation have brought together stakeholders from Devonport to make sure that this important anniversary isn’t missed.

There are some exciting events in the pipeline, from art projects to community celebrations, all telling the story of Devonport’s history, present and future. And there is so much to tell – from the days of grandeur to its wartime story and the regeneration we see there today.

I have written about Devonport 200 on Plymouth Live, you can read more about my thoughts here. I cannot wait to see what the coming year brings for this brilliant part of the city,

Thanks to Real Ideas for hosting us all this morning, the Market Hall is a fantastic asset in our community, and I really recommend visiting if you haven’t already.

If you have a community project or idea for marking the 200th anniversary of the founding of Devonport please get in touch by emailing luke.pollard.mp@parliament.uk or calling my Plymouth office on 01752 717255
